Zsuzsi Menkò: “I am a registered MBSR teacher with the Mindfulness Network in Hungary. I lead 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs as well as individual mindfulness- based coaching processes. In addition, I am an EMCC EIA accredited practitioner coach and mentor, and I also work as a corporate soft-skill trainer. Among my different professional identities, as a mindfulness teacher I feel the most alive and most authentic, embracing my sensitivity as a strength. I first began practicing mindfulness-based meditation in a therapeutic setting to reduce my anxiety and find direction. At that time, I had just returned from working in the oil and gas industry in the Middle East and started a position at a large energy company in Hungary, but I felt it was not the right path for me. In 2021, I joined the Original Light Zen Community, where I remain an active member to this day. Through meditation and my Zen path, I found my way back to myself and experienced the innate wisdom of the heart—something we all carry within us, though often silenced by the weight of past traumas.”
Cultivating mindfulness helps awaken heart-based intelligence: an inner wisdom present in all of us, yet often silenced by the fast pace of daily life and past difficulties. By cultivating the eight core attitudes of mindfulness (e.g. non-judging, patience, trust, compassion for self and others), we can reconnect with the voice of the heart. In this 90-minute workshop, participants will experientially explore how we often operate in problem-solving mode instead of being fully present in the moment. Short guided meditations and interactive, inquiry-based reflections will support awareness of the nature of the wandering mind, our automatic reactions, and the practical relevance of the eight attitudes. Small- and large- group discussions will help deepen these experiences. The workshop aims to give participants a direct encounter with the foundational qualities of mindfulness, enabling them to draw upon the source of heart-based intelligence in their professional work and personal lives.
