At Life’s Meridian – Finding New Sources
The session entitled "At Life’s Meridian – Finding New Sources," is a 120-minute experiential journey designed for helpline volunteers facing the challenges of midlife using the Franz Kett pedagogical method. During the two-hour workshop, symbols take center stage instead of words: through a joint creation, we make the values and challenges of midlife visible. With the help of various tools, the stages of our life journeys, the ripe fruits of our work so far, the challenges of the present period, and the joys and hopes of the future can be displayed. The method is based on quiet contemplation and rituals experienced together, creating an opportunity to reconnect with our inner resources. It gives space to experience free, childlike joy, and we can also be amazed at how much a little encouragement or a tiny bit of courage can mean. All of this can help us to move on renewed into the “second half” of our lives. By the end of the program, our personal experiences are shaped into a joint creation that carries a message for us. We can carry this message with us – preserving it in our hearts and memories – so that we can recall it at any time after the occasion.
