As early as the first weeks of pregnancy, touch is already present. It lays the foundation for how we perceive ourselves and the world around us. Touch is essential to how we feel and how we connect with others. In this workshop, we will explore the language of touch–both physically and emotionally. Short theoretical inputs will be complemented by experiential exercises, self-touch practices, and the verbalization of emotional responses. We will reflection how physical experience can be translated into words–especially within the context of written and spoken encounters, like those we engage in through telephone counselling. This is an invitation to quite literally come to grips with touch: to feel, reflect, express–and to engage body language as a resource for connection and presence.
