Die Landkarte unserer Verletzlichkeit ist einzigartig, ist individuell. 8 Milliarden Menschen, 8 Milliarden Landkarten. Gleichwohl gibt es Ähnlichkeiten in Gruppen der gleichen Herkunft, Kultur, Religion. Im interkulturellen und interreligiösen Dialog wollen wir anhand der Zusammenarbeit der christlichen Telefonseelsorge Berlin und des muslimischen Seelsorgetelefons Berlin herausfinden, wo es Gemeinsamkeiten und zu beachtende Unterschiede gibt.

Maps of Vulnerability

The map of our vulnerability is unique and individual. Eight billion people, eight billion maps. Nevertheless, there are similarities within groups of shared origin, culture, or religion. In intercultural and interreligious dialogue, we aim to explore — through the collaboration between the Christian Telefonseelsorge Berlin and the Muslim Crisis Hotline Berlin — where common ground exists and which differences need to be acknowledged.

Das Christentum und der Islam scheinen in ihren Wertvorstellungen und Geboten sehr weit auseinanderzuliegen. So suggeriert es uns zumindest die öffentliche Wahrnehmung. Politik, Medien und auch der Versuch im Migrationsgeschehen eine kulturelle Identität zu bewahren, tragen häufig dazu bei Unterschiede zu betonen; Gemeinsamkeiten werden erst gar nicht erwähnt. In Bibel und Koran finden wir aber die Erzählung der gleichen Geschichten und vor allem deren gleiche Deutung.

The commonalities between the Bible and the Qur'an

Christianity and Islam may appear to be worlds apart in their values and commandments — at least that’s what public perception often suggests. Politics, media, and efforts to preserve cultural identity in the context of migration frequently emphasize differences; commonalities are rarely mentioned. Yet in the Bible and the Qur'an, we find the telling of the same stories — and, more importantly, the same interpretations of those stories.

Uwe MÜLLER, Leiter a.D. Kirchliche Telefonseelsorge Berlin ist Dipl Soz.Päd., Seelsorgeausbilder, Supervisor. Er ist der Gründer der Telefonseelsorge in Ost-Berlin 1988 zu Zeiten der DDR und hat die Gründung der Telefonseelsorge-Stellen in den neuen Bundesländern maßgeblich mitgestaltet.

Imran SAGIR ist Gründer und Geschäftsführer des Muslimischen Seelsorgetelefons MUTES in Berlin. Der Imam Imran SAGIR ist Seelsorgeausbilder, Notfall- und Gefängnisseelsorger.

Uwe Müller, former director of the Church-based Crisis Hotline Berlin, holds a degree in social pedagogy (Dipl. Soz.Päd.), and is a trainer in pastoral care and a supervisor. He founded the crisis hotline in East Berlin in 1988 during the GDR era and played a key role in establishing crisis hotline centers across the new federal states.
Imran Sagir is the founder and managing director of the Muslim Crisis Hotline MUTES in Berlin. Imam Imran Sagir is a trainer in pastoral care, and serves as an emergency and prison chaplain.
